2.94

經。若復有人至所不能及　贊曰。此校量顯勝也。下位有情惡世持說勝佛二祇修因勝福顯然。燈前雖行供養心有所得未蒙授記。是故不如持說經福無所得因。速成佛故即前復能速證法也。

Sūtra: "If, on the other hand, a person... [could not equal] a hundredth part..." / Commentary: This is measuring to reveal its superiority. When a sentient being of inferior rank upholds and explains [it] in an evil age, it surpasses the supreme merit of the Buddha's causal cultivation across two asaṃkhyeyas, which is evident. Before Dīpaṃkara, although he practiced offerings, his mind possessed grasping and had not yet received the prediction; therefore, it is inferior to the merit of upholding and explaining the scripture, which is a cause free of grasping and rapidly attains Buddhahood. Thus, as the preceding [verse] states, he also "can rapidly realize the Dharma."
