經。而白佛言希有世尊　第二嘆佛化德也。文中有二。一總嘆。二別嘆。此文總也。十住婆沙論云。一者現通希有。二者逆說彼心希有。三者教化希有。今言希有者。即當第三教化希有也。言世尊者。第十號也。

Sūtra: And addressed the Buddha, saying: 'How rare, O Bhagavat!' / Second, this praises the Buddha's virtues of conversion. The text has two parts: first, a general praise; second, a specific praise. This text is the general. The *Daśabhūmika-vibhāṣā* states: 'First is the rarity of manifesting spiritual powers; second is the rarity of knowing their minds beforehand; third is the rarity of teaching and transforming.' Here, saying 'How rare' corresponds to the third, the rarity of teaching and transforming. 'Bhagavat' is the tenth epithet.
