經。須菩提如來說第一波羅蜜非第一波羅蜜是名第一波羅蜜　後文釋也。謂顯此經。於一切波羅蜜教中是最妙故。由此世間難生信解。多起疑謗。是故若聞不生驚等即為希有。如來說第一波羅蜜者。即是此經所詮第一波羅蜜也。非第一波羅蜜者。謂非是餘經所詮第一波羅蜜也。是名第一波羅蜜者。結成初句也。

Sūtra: Subhūti, what the Tathāgata speaks of as the foremost pāramitā is not the foremost pāramitā; therefore it is named the foremost pāramitā.' The subsequent text is the explanation. This reveals that this sūtra is the most marvelous among the teachings of all pāramitās. Because of this, it is difficult for the world to produce faithful understanding, and many give rise to doubt and slander. Therefore, if one hears it and does not give rise to alarm and so forth, one is rare. 'What the Tathāgata speaks of as the foremost pāramitā' is precisely the foremost pāramitā expressed by this sūtra. 'Is not the foremost pāramitā' means that it is not the foremost pāramitā expressed by other sūtras. 'Therefore it is named the foremost pāramitā' concludes and establishes the opening phrase.
