Because it entrusts the future to broadly propagate [the Dharma], it is called "Entrustment." From the beginning up to "broadly expounded for their sake," it charges the higher refuges to broadly propagate it. From "Maitreya, you should know" onward, it shows the people of the higher refuges that when they broadly propagate the sūtra in the future, they should recognize their evils. "As you have said, I rejoice in your [statement]": first, this clarifies that the higher refuges can avoid those evils; second, it clarifies that in the future they will be able to broadly propagate the sūtra. There are two points that accord with the noble mind, which is why [the Buddha] rejoices. From "Thereupon, all the bodhisattvas" onward, it clarifies the lower refuges transmitting [the Dharma]. From "At that time the Four Heavenly Kings" onward, it clarifies the Four Heavenly Kings protecting those who uphold the sūtra. There are two points, as with the Buddha's rejoicing earlier. From "[The Buddha] addressed Ānanda" onward, it encourages the four higher refuges to broadly propagate this sūtra in the future. The Buddha addressed Ānanda to disseminate its text. As for "already received and upheld the essential": those who have received and upheld the essentials of the two truths. "What should this scripture be named?": this asks for its title in order to receive and uphold it.
