4.39

第一從佛為說法於菴羅樹薗已下訖是維摩詰欲求故先現此瑞應。明將詣佛所印封所說先現光明表其相來令菴羅諸人豫生欽仰。

First, from “The Buddha preached the Dharma for them in the Āmrapālī grove…” onwards down to “because this Vimalakīrti wished to request it, he first manifested this auspicious response,” it explains that as they were about to go to the Buddha's dwelling to seal and ratify what had been spoken, a light was first manifested to show the signs of their arrival, causing all the people in the Āmrapālī grove to give rise to admiration in advance.
