於是維摩問文殊已下第二大段。就緣說種。所以問文殊者。欲明二聖互相顯揚。就中開為三子段。

'Thereupon Vimalakīrti asked Mañjuśrī...' onward is the second major section, explaining the gotra in accordance with conditions. Why did he ask Mañjuśrī? It intends to clarify the two sages mutually revealing and making each other known. Within this, it is divided into three subsections.
