From “At that time the bodhisattvas who had come from the Sarvagandhasugandhā world” onward is the sixth section. It clarifies that having been rebuked, the bodhisattvas from above gained awakening therein; therefore, they repented, reproached themselves, and requested the Dharma to return to their land. It is divided into two inquiries. From the beginning up to “manifesting different buddha-lands,” it clarifies their repentance and self-reproach. From “Only so…” onward is the second inquiry, requesting the Dharma to return to their land. “We pray you will bestow a little Dharma; returning to that land, we will be mindful of the Tathāgata”: they will be mindful of transmitting the Dharma of the Tathāgata. Another explanation: having already heard above that buddha-works are inconceivable, they are about to request the Dharma to return to their land, wishing to proclaim the Tathāgata’s inconceivable path and cause the sentient beings of their native land to be mindful of the Buddha’s merits.
