于時梵志在傍具見即自悔責。我不及牛。不識福田生此惡心。梵志門徒數百人見此事已皆得法眼淨。梵志復說偈言。

At that time, the brahmacārin, who was standing nearby, saw everything completely, and immediately reproached himself: 'I am not equal to a cow. Failing to recognize the field of merit, I gave rise to this evil thought!' The brahmacārin's disciples, numbering several hundred, having seen this matter, all attained the purity of the Dharma eye. The brahmacārin spoke another verse:
