From here below is the third [part], which restates and concludes by exhorting the true beings to train in [these practices]. "When a bodhisattva has cultivated these dharmas" and below restates the preceding two approaches. Although the two dharmas differ, their practice necessarily depends upon one another, and therefore they are explained in contrast, clarifying that each practice exists because its application differs. "These are called..." and below concludes and exhorts them to cultivate and train. Because they do not exhaust the conditioned, they are free from the burden of deficient virtue; because they do not dwell in the unconditioned, they are free from the obstruction of solitary goodness. These two unobstructed approaches are the essential path by which bodhisattvas propagate the Way, and the source of the fathomless Buddha-activities. Exhorting them to train in this and displaying to them the acintya path of Buddha-activities so that they will be certain of it, "the Buddhas are not several..." and below explains that the bodhisattvas, having heard the Dharma, rejoiced, paid homage, and took their leave. Therein, first there is the reverent offering with the three karmas, and afterward they take leave and return to their realm. In the former, first it says that those bodhisattvas, hearing this exposition, all rejoiced; the joy in the Dharma gladdening their minds is the mental-karma offering. Using various flowers and so forth is the bodily-karma offering. Therein, first they make offerings with fragrant flowers and the like, and afterward they show reverence. In the former offering, using various wonderful flowers scattering them throughout the trichiliocosm is an offering to the Buddha-jewel; "and this sūtra" refers to offering to the Dharma-jewel; "and the bodhisattvas" refers to offering to the Saṅgha-jewel. The above concludes the offering; below is showing reverence. This completes bodily karma. "Exclaiming that it was unprecedented" and so forth is praising as the vocal-karma offering. The above concludes the reverent offering. It says that having finished speaking, they disappeared and arrived at their original land, which is taking leave and returning to their realm.
