十善是菩薩淨土。菩薩成佛時命不中夭。大富梵行所言誠諦。常以軟語眷屬不離。善知諍訟言必饒益。不嫉不恚正見眾生來生其國　肇曰。不中夭不殺報也。大富不盜報也。梵行不婬報也。誠諦不妄語也。軟語不惡口。不離和諍不兩舌也。饒益不綺語也。不嫉不恚正見。嫉恚邪見心患之尤者故別立三善也。

"The ten wholesome actions are the bodhisattva's pure land. When the bodhisattva attains Buddhahood, sentient beings whose lives are not cut short prematurely, who possess great wealth, who maintain celibacy, whose words are trustworthy, who always speak gently, whose retinues are not separated, who are skilled at resolving disputes, whose speech is always beneficial, who are free from jealousy and anger, and who hold right view are born in his realm." Sengzhao says: "Not dying prematurely is the retribution for not killing; great wealth is the retribution for not stealing; celibacy is the retribution for not committing sexual misconduct; trustworthiness is for not lying; gentle words are for not using harsh speech; not being separated and resolving disputes is for not engaging in divisive speech; beneficial speech is for not engaging in frivolous talk. Not being jealous, not being angry, and holding right view—since jealousy, anger, and wrong view are the worst afflictions of the mind, three wholesomenesses are established separately for them."
