When the Buddha manifested the majestic purity of this realm, the five hundred elder's sons led by Ratnarāśi all attained the forbearance of the non-arising of dharmas. This is the fourth major section, [wherein the assembly at that] time attained benefits [...]. The Great and Lesser Vehicles each have two kinds of benefits, deep and shallow; here, it is the deep awakening to non-arising. The Pañcaviṃśatisāhasrikā Prajñāpāramitā explains emptiness through form; awakening to the non-duality of emptiness and form also realizes the forbearance of the non-arising of dharmas. The 'Life Span' chapter of the Lotus Sūtra explains long life through the short life at Gayā; awakening to the dharmakāya being neither long nor short also brings awakening to the forbearance of non-arising. This sūtra explains purity through consciousness [...]; awakening to the non-duality of defilement and purity also attains the forbearance of non-arising. Observing it through this, the diverse teachings of the various sūtras converge at the same destination. Sengzhao says: "The rising of a Buddha-realm is properly for the sake of [...] the forbearance of non-arising, which is identical to the 'forbearance of non-arising dharmas' mentioned above."
