佛告富樓那彌多羅尼子。汝行詣維摩詰問疾　文二此初命也。肇曰。富樓那字也。秦言滿願彌多羅尼其母名。秦言知識通名為字。弟子中辯才第一。

The Buddha told Pūrṇa Maitrāyaṇīputra: "Go to Vimalakīrti to inquire after his illness." The text has two sections; this is the first, commanding. Sengzhao says: Pūrṇa is his personal name, in Qin translated as "Full Wish" (Manyuan). Maitrāyaṇī was his mother's name, in Qin translated as "Good Friend" (Zhishi). Combining the names forms his style. Among the disciples, he is the foremost in eloquence.
