當知是比丘心之所念。無以琉璃同彼水精　二勸觀心念念雖生滅而性無生滅。此真寶也。說生滅者偽寶也。肇曰。當識其心念之根本無令真偽不辨也。

"'You should know what these monks are thinking in their minds. Do not equate lapis lazuli with that crystal!'" The second is urging him to observe the mind: though thoughts arise and cease from moment to moment, their nature is free from arising and ceasing. This is the true jewel; expounding arising and ceasing is the counterfeit jewel. Sengzhao says: One should recognise the root of their thoughts, and not leave the true and counterfeit undistinguished.
