所以者何。憶念。我昔時毘耶離諸長者子來詣我所。稽首作禮問我言。唯羅睺羅。汝佛之子。捨轉輪王位出家為道。其出家者有何等利　此下二略釋文二。此初問也。諸長者子心慕出家。父母所制。覩羅睺羅捨轉輪王十善之化而剃落從道。必有大利勝在家修故從而問焉。

"Why is this? I recall that in the past, sons of elders in Vaiśālī came to where I was, bowed their heads in homage, and asked me: 'O Rāhula! You are a son of the Buddha, who abandoned the position of a wheel-turning king to leave household life and follow the Way. What benefits does leaving household life offer?'" / Below, second, briefly explaining, in two parts. This is the first, the question. The sons of the elders longed in their hearts to leave household life, but were constrained by their parents. Seeing Rāhula abandon the wheel-turning king's transformation through the ten virtues and shave his head to pursue the Way, [they reasoned that] there must be great benefit surpassing cultivation at home, and therefore inquired accordingly.
