時維摩詰來為我言。唯羅睺羅。不應說出家功德之利　此下三廣引彈事文五。一呵不應說。二解釋所以。三示真出家。四詰真出家。五勸修真出家。此初總呵也。體本法身三界如幻不生不滅名為出家。此則損益兩云。無利可說故呵不應也。

"At that time, Vimalakīrti came and said to me: 'O Rāhula! You should not speak of the benefits and merits of leaving household life.'" / Below, third, extensively citing the reproof, in five parts: 1. rebuking that he should not speak [of it]; 2. explaining the reason; 3. revealing the true leaving of household life; 4. interrogating the true leaving of household life; 5. encouraging the cultivation of the true leaving of household life. This is the first, general rebuke. Embodying the fundamental dharmakāya, the three realms as illusory, neither arising nor ceasing, is called leaving household life. Here, both loss and gain are dismissed, and there is no benefit to speak of; hence he rebukes that he should not speak.
