"Non-conjunction is bodhi, because it is detached from the habit-energies of afflictions." Sengzhao says: Saṃsāra is conjoined because it is bound by afflictions; being detached from afflictions, there is no conjunction. Non-conjunction is itself bodhi. "No place is bodhi, because it has no form or color. Nominal designation is bodhi, because names are empty." Sengzhao says: Externally there is no place of form and color; internally there is no actual entity that can be named. "Like an illusion is bodhi, because it has neither grasping nor rejecting." Sengzhao says: Bodhi has neither grasping nor rejecting, just like the mindlessness of an illusory person.
