舍利弗問天。汝於此沒當生何所　此五就報明生滅不生滅異。二乘業生故有生沒。菩薩法身故無生沒。文四。此初也。肇曰。既知現相之無在。又問當生之所在。

Śāriputra asked the goddess: "When you pass away here, where will you be born?" This fifth part clarifies the difference between arising/perishing and non-arising/perishing with respect to retribution. Because the two vehicles are born of karma, they have arising and passing away; because bodhisattvas are of the dharmakāya, they have no arising or passing away. The text has four parts; this is the first. Zhao says: "Having known that manifested marks are nowhere, he further asks where she will be born."
