四禪為床座。從於淨命生。多聞增智慧。以為自覺音　四禪宴息猶如床座。要從持戒淨命所生。離五欲泥散亂毒蟲。猶恐貪著禪味故。令多聞以自覺。

"The four dhyānas are his couch and seat, / Arising from pure livelihood; / Much learning increases his wisdom, / Serving as the sound of his own awakening." / The peaceful rest of the four dhyānas is like a couch and seat, which must arise from holding the precepts and having a pure livelihood, departing from the mud of the five desires and the poisonous insects of distraction. Yet fearing attachment to the taste of dhyāna, he is caused to have much learning so as to awaken himself.
