現此妙喜國時。娑婆世界十四那由他人發阿耨多羅三藐三菩提心。皆願生於妙喜佛土。釋迦牟尼佛即記之曰。當生彼國　此五明眾益。文三。發心發願佛記如文妙喜現。此二意。一為證淨名淨土。二為若干有緣發心。

'When this land of Abhirati was manifested, fourteen nayutas of people in the Saha world brought forth the mind of anuttarā-samyak-saṃbodhi, and all vowed to be born in the Buddha-land of Abhirati. Śākyamuni Buddha immediately bestowed a prophecy upon them, saying, "You shall be born in that land."' This is fifth, clarifying the benefit to the assembly. The text has three parts: bringing forth the mind, making vows, and the Buddha's prophecy, as in the text. There are two purposes for Abhirati's appearance: first, to bear witness to Jingming's pure land; second, to cause those with conditions to bring forth the mind.
