彌勒菩薩聞說是已白佛言。世尊。未曾有也。如佛所說。我當遠離如斯之惡　此下二明彌勒四王等受旨。文三。此初彌勒受旨。文二。初領旨。二佛讚。領中先受誡旨。肇曰。一生大士豈有如斯之惡而復離邪。發言者為未離者耳。

When the Bodhisattva Maitreya had heard this, he said to the Buddha: "World-Honoured One, it is unprecedented! As the Buddha has said, I shall stay far away from evils such as these." / Below this is the second part, clarifying Maitreya, the Four Kings, and others receiving the instruction. The text has three parts; this is the first, Maitreya receiving the instruction. The text has two parts: first, accepting the instruction; second, the Buddha's praise. Within accepting, first is receiving the instruction of admonition. Sengzhao says: "How could a Mahāsattva of one [final] birth have evils such as these and need to abandon them again? His uttering these words was for the sake of those who have not yet abandoned them."
