"All the various classes of sentient beings, / In form, voice, and deportment, / The fearless, powerful bodhisattva / Can manifest them all at once. / Perceiving and knowing the affairs of all the māras, / He yet appears to follow their deeds; / With the wisdom of skilful means, / He is able to manifest everything at will. / Or he displays old age, illness, and death, / Bringing all beings to maturity; / Fully understanding them to be like an illusion, / He penetrates through without impediment." / Part two: these three verses clarify knowing māras and comprehending illusion, yet manifesting, assisting, and saving [through] old age, illness, and death, just like what the Crown Prince, desiring [to renounce], was shown by the Śuddhāvāsa devas at the four city gates.
