At that time, Śākyamuni Buddha addressed the great assembly: 'All of you, behold the world of Abhirati and the Tathāgata Akṣobhya—how adorned that land is, how pure the bodhisattvas' conduct, how immaculate the disciples!' They all said, 'Yes, indeed, we have seen it.' The Buddha said, 'If a bodhisattva would attain such a pure Buddha-land, they should learn the path traversed by the Tathāgata Akṣobhya.' This is fourth, encouraging practice. The text has three parts: this first encourages beholding. Second, 'They all said, "Yes, indeed"' replies that they have seen it. From 'The Buddha said' onward, the encouragement to practice is also clear. Sengzhao says: 'Climbing high must proceed from the base; seeking the fruit must investigate its cause.'
