"I shall uphold the Dharma of anuttarā-samyak-saṃbodhi accumulated by the Tathāgata over countless asaṃkhyeya kalpas. If in future eras there are good men and good women seeking the Mahāyāna, I shall cause their hands to obtain sūtras such as these and grant them the power of mindfulness, causing them to receive, uphold, read, recite, and expound them widely for others. World-Honoured One, if in the later, final age there are those who can receive, uphold, read, recite, and explain them for others, you should know that this is established by Maitreya's supernatural power." / This is the second part, accepting the instruction to circulate the sūtra. The Tathāgata's attainment of the Dharma benefits and pervades the three times. Where there are affinities in the future, I shall cause their hands to obtain it and their minds to uphold it, humbly speaking of one's own practice. Regarding 'Maitreya's supernatural power,' Sengzhao says: "He determines his own merit beforehand to quell the disruptions of the māras."
