彌沙塞律第二十四卷囑授文　有諸比丘。未命終過。處分衣物言。我死後以此衣物施某甲。以此衣物作如是如是用。諸比丘以白佛。佛言。不應爾。犯者突吉羅罪。與不成與不用不成用。

The text on entrustment in the twenty-fourth fascicle of the Mahīśāsaka-vinaya: There were monks who, before their lives had ended, disposed of their robes and possessions, saying: 'After I die, give these robes and possessions to so-and-so; use these robes and possessions for such-and-such purposes.' The monks reported this to the Buddha. The Buddha said: 'It should not be so. Those who violate this commit a duṣkṛta offense. Giving does not constitute giving, and using does not constitute using.'
