The thirteenth 'furthermore' explains the concentration with five factors, divided into four: 1. general question; 2. citing the sūtra to answer briefly; 3. extensive explanation, divided into five: (1) explaining the factors of concentration in the first dhyāna, divided into two: a. explaining the entity of the concentration, having six phrases as in the treatise; b. illustrating with similes, having ten as in the treatise; (2) explaining the factors of concentration in the second dhyāna, divided into two: a. establishing similes, having five as in the treatise; b. revealing the entity of the concentration, having six phrases as before; (3) explaining the factors of concentration in the third dhyāna, having two similes as in the treatise; (4) explaining the factors of concentration in the fourth dhyāna, divided into two: a. revealing the entity of the concentration, having two phrases as in the treatise; b. establishing similes, divided into two: (a) the simile of the elder, divided into two: i. question; ii. answer, divided into two: [i] explaining the simile; [ii] application to phenomena; (b) establishing the simile of the eightfold warp and ninefold warp, divided into two: i. explaining the simile; ii. application to phenomena; (5) explaining the factor of concentration that observes conditioned arising, divided into two: a. presentation; b. explanation; 4. explaining the noble concentration and establishing its distinctions, divided into three: (1) question; (2) answer, divided into two: a. answering the former question; b. answering the latter question; (3) general conclusion.
