Fifth, explaining the nutriment of the hindrance of doubt has two parts: 1. Explaining the characteristics of the nutriment has three parts: (1) general question, (2) brief answer, (3) detailed explanation, which has two parts: a. explaining doubt regarding the three times; b. explaining improper attention, which has three parts: (a) general presentation, (b) listing the names, (c) explanation, which has three parts: i. explaining thinking about the self, ii. explaining thinking about sentient beings, iii. explaining thinking about the world, which has two parts: [i] presentation, [ii] explanation. 2. Explaining the characteristics of non-nutriment has three parts: (1) general question, (2) brief answer, (3) explanation, which has three parts: a. explaining the excellent benefits of proper attention; b. explaining the essence of improper attention; c. distinguishing the difference between proper and improper [attention], which has three parts: (a) stating the thesis, (b) citing an analogy, (c) establishing the reason.
