Sixth among the eight, explaining the establishment of birth has four parts: (1) explaining the three desires of birth, divided into two: (i) presentation; [and] (ii) explanation, divided into three: (a) explaining mastery over immediate desires, divided into three: [1] presentation, [2] inquiry, [and] [3] explanation; (b) explaining mastery over emanated desires, divided into four: [1] presentation, [2] inquiry, [3] explanation, [and] [4] conclusion; [and] (c) explaining mastery over others' desires, divided into three: [1] presentation, [2] explanation, divided into two: [A] explaining the experience of desire, [and] [B] explaining the name; [and] [3] conclusion; (2) explaining the three pleasures of birth, divided into two: (i) presentation; [and] (ii) explanation, divided into three: (a) explaining joy and pleasure born of detachment, divided into two: [1] presentation, [and] [2] explanation; (b) explaining joy and pleasure born of concentration, divided into two: [1] presentation, [and] [2] explanation; [and] (c) explaining pleasure without unwholesomeness and [with] goodness, divided into two: [1] presentation, [and] [2] explanation; (3) explaining the reasons for establishing the three desires and three pleasures, divided into three: (i) inquiry, (ii) general answer, [and] (iii) explanation, divided into three: (a) explaining the quest for desires, (b) the quest for existence, divided into two: [1] explaining the quest for existence, [and] [2] answering an objection; [and] (c) the quest for the holy life; [and] (4) explaining distinctions in the quest for the holy life, divided into two: (i) with superior, [and] (ii) unsurpassable.
