Parts one and two jointly clarify impermanence in terms of the aspect of alteration and the aspect of destruction, divided into three:
1. Clarifying impermanence based on scripture, divided into two:
1. General presentation;
2. Distinct explanations, divided into three: (1) brief explanation, (2) listing names, (3) detailed explanation, divided into two: [1] clarifying the impermanence of the world of sentient beings, [2] clarifying the impermanence of the receptacle world, divided into two: [a] clarifying the primary meaning, [b] conclusion;
2. Clarifying the contemplation of impermanence based on direct perception, divided into five: (1) general presentation, divided into two: [1] establishing the cause, [2] revealing the result; (2) interrogation; (3) brief answer; (4) listing names; (5) distinct explanations;
Listing names is divided into three:
1. Listing names of internal matters, divided into two: (1) presentation, (2) explanation;
2. Listing names of external matters, divided into three: (1) general presentation, (2) distinct explanations, divided into sixteen as in the treatise, (3) general summary;
3. Listing names of matters of alteration impermanence, divided into three:
1. General presentation, divided into two: (1) presentation, (2) explanation;
2. Interrogation;
3. Answers and listings, divided into two: [1] listing the names of fifteen matters, divided into fifteen as in the treatise; [2] listing the names of eight causes and conditions of alteration, divided into four: [a] general inquiry, [b] listing names, divided into eight as in the treatise, [c] distinct explanations, divided into eight as in the treatise, [d] general summary;
5. Distinct explanations, divided into two.
