Within the nine parts of the fifth detailed explanation, the third—explaining giving that is difficult to practice—has three parts: 1. General inquiry. 2. Brief answer. 3. Separate explanations, divided into three: First, explaining giving that is difficult to practice based on enduring poverty oneself when wealth is meager, divided into two: (1) explaining the correct meaning, (2) conclusion. Second, explaining giving that is difficult to practice based on cherished animate and inanimate objects, divided into two: (1) explaining the correct meaning, divided into five as in the treatise, (2) conclusion. Third, explaining giving that is difficult to practice based on what was acquired with hardship and toil, divided into two: (1) explaining the correct meaning, (2) conclusion.
