Within the fourth section, the detailed explanation, divided into three parts of the seven main headings of the Chapter on the Means of Conversion (Saṃgrahavastu), the third part, clarifying the detailed meaning of common enterprise (samānārthatā), is divided into five: 1. a general question; 2. a brief answer, divided into two: (1) clarifying contemplation of the other's training rules, divided into two: showing the result, and showing the cause; (2) clarifying the characteristics of one's own training, divided into two: showing the result, and showing the cause; 3. explaining the name; 4. clarifying the intention in practicing common enterprise, divided into three: (1) clarifying the primary meaning, divided into two: establishing the cause, and revealing the result; (2) inquiry; (3) answering the reason why, divided into two: answering the reason why based on causing others to generate faith, divided into two: stating the topic, and explaining it; answering the reason why based on stopping others' doubts and objections, divided into two: stating the topic, and explaining it; 5. distinguishing the different characteristics of common enterprise based on four propositions, divided into two: (1) generally stating and listing the names of the four distinct propositions, divided into four, as in the treatise; (2) specifically explaining the meaning of the four propositions, divided into four: [1] clarifying the proposition of being of common enterprise with others while not personally showing that one is of common enterprise with others, divided into two: stating the topic, and explaining it, divided into three: clarifying that one possesses the two virtues oneself, revealing the faults of the sentient beings to be transformed, and clarifying the meaning of not personally manifesting that one possesses virtue; [2] clarifying the proposition of not being of common enterprise with others while personally showing that one is of common enterprise with others, divided into two: stating the topic, and explaining it, divided into two: establishing the sentient beings to be transformed, and revealing the virtues of the transforming agent, divided into two: stating the topic, and explaining it, divided into two: clarifying the intention of taking rebirth, divided into four, as in the treatise, and clarifying the characteristics of taking rebirth; [3] clarifying the proposition of being of common enterprise with others and also personally showing that one is of common enterprise with others, divided into two: stating the topic, and explaining it, divided into two: clarifying the intention of establishing common enterprise, and revealing the characteristics of practicing common enterprise; [4] clarifying the proposition of not being of common enterprise with others and also not personally showing that one is of common enterprise with others, divided into two: stating the topic, and explaining it, divided into two: clarifying the meaning of not being of common enterprise with others, and clarifying the meaning of also not personally showing that one is of common enterprise with others.
