分三十中第一明諸蘊有色義分二。一總問分二。一問有色自性。二問有色之數。二廣答分二。一答有色自性分三。一立因。二顯果。三結。二答其數。

Within the division into thirty: the first, explaining the meaning of the skandhas having form (rūpin), has two parts: (1) A general question has two parts: a. asking about the intrinsic nature of having form; b. asking about the enumeration of having form. (2) An extensive answer has two parts: a. answering the intrinsic nature of having form has three parts: (a) establishing the cause; (b) showing the effect; (c) concluding; b. answering its enumeration.
