Of the seven [sections], the third, explaining the skill regarding the three formations of body and so forth, has three [parts]: (1) presenting the sūtra phrase, divided into two: 1. presentation; 2. explanation; (2) explaining the intention of the sūtra, divided into two: 1. explaining bodily formation, divided into two: 1) explaining the characteristics of bodily formation based on the wind of inhalation and exhalation, divided into two: a. presentation; b. explanation; 2) explaining the characteristics of bodily formation based on wholesome and unwholesome karma and so forth, divided into two: a. presentation; b. explanation; 2. by analogy, explaining the two formations of speech and mind, divided into two: 1) explaining verbal formation; 2) explaining mental formation; (3) general summary.
