一依境界義等明根差別分九　一明有境界非境界根義分二。一問。二答分二如論　二明非色助伴根分二。一問。二答　三明色非色助伴根分二。一問。二答　四明眼等五根義分二。一問。二答　五明意根義分二。一問。二答　六明男女二根義分二。一問。二答　七明苦等五根義分二。一問。二答　八明信等五根義分五如論　九明未知欲知等三根義分三如論。

1. Clarifying the distinctions of the faculties based on the meaning of object (gocara) and so forth, which has nine parts: (1) clarifying the meaning of faculties having objects and having no objects, in two parts: a. question, b. answer, in two parts as in the treatise; (2) clarifying the faculties with non-material attendants, in two parts: a. question, b. answer; (3) clarifying the faculties with material and non-material attendants, in two parts: a. question, b. answer; (4) clarifying the meaning of the five faculties of the eye and so forth, in two parts: a. question, b. answer; (5) clarifying the meaning of the mind faculty, in two parts: a. question, b. answer; (6) clarifying the meaning of the female and male faculties, in two parts: a. question, b. answer; (7) clarifying the meaning of the five faculties of suffering and so forth, in two parts: a. question, b. answer; (8) clarifying the meaning of the five faculties of faith and so forth, in five parts as in the treatise; (9) clarifying the meaning of the three faculties of desiring to know the unknown and so forth, in three parts as in the treatise.
