第一依身境二轉句明諸根差別善巧分二。一總問分二如論。二廣答分二。一答若有根依境界生必依身轉義。二答或有根依身轉不依境界義分二。一標。二釋。

The first [section], explaining skill in the distinction of faculties based on the clause of functioning in dependence on body and object, is divided into two: 1. general questioning, divided into two as in the treatise; and 2. extensive answering, divided into two: (1) answering the meaning that if there is a faculty that arises dependent on an object, it necessarily functions dependent on the body; and (2) answering the meaning that there may be a faculty that functions dependent on the body without being dependent on an object, divided into two: a. stating and b. explaining.
