Within the four divisions, the third, on explaining the distinctions of the indriyas based on the phrase 'pain, pleasure, and so forth', has two parts: 1. general questions, with two parts as in the treatise; 2. detailed answers, divided into four: (1) answering the meaning of 'is pain and is conjoined with non-pain', with two parts: i. positing; ii. explaining; (2) answering the meaning of 'is pain and is conjoined with pain', with two parts: i. positing; ii. explaining; (3) answering the meaning of 'is pain and is not the characteristic of pain or pleasure', with two parts: i. positing; ii. explaining; (4) answering 'not the characteristic of pain or pleasure', with two parts: i. positing; ii. explaining.
