二軌唯差別緣無我等者。此中差別謂即是句。言自性者謂即是名。故唯識論云。名詮自性句詮差別。且如頌云諸行無常。各別四名但詮自性。未合成句智解未生。合成句時差別於常方解諸行。是其無常故唯差別而在軌義。
Regarding "second, measure applies only to differences, taking non-self as object," etc.: Here, "difference" refers to a sentence; "intrinsic nature" refers to a noun. Therefore the Vijñaptimātratāsiddhi says: "Nouns express intrinsic nature; sentences express differences." For instance, in the verse "all conditioned things are impermanent," the four separate nouns merely express intrinsic natures; before they are combined into a sentence, understanding does not arise. When combined into a sentence, impermanence differentiates from permanence, and only then does one understand that conditioned things are impermanent. Therefore, only difference constitutes the meaning of "measure."
