由稱量等起慢等故者。於稱量中等取猶豫推度之義。於慢之下等取疑見。謂由稱量上中下品而起七慢。謂由於境猶豫不決而起於疑。於境推求而起我見。故於兩句皆置等言。

Regarding "due to appraising, etc., giving rise to pride, etc.": Under "appraising", "etc." includes the meanings of hesitation and conjecturing. Under "pride", "etc." includes doubt and view. That is, due to appraising higher, middle, and lower grades, the seven kinds of pride arise; due to being hesitant and indecisive about an object, doubt arises; and due to probing an object, self-view arises. Therefore, in both clauses, the word "etc." is placed.
