論。何以故。述曰。上總立竟。次下第二依門別立。於中有二。先責總立難。後開別釋成。此初也。心通染淨。大乘唯淨。如何此心顯大乘義。

[Treatise:] Why is this? [Exposition:] Above, the general establishment is concluded. Next below is the second part, specifically establishing [it] according to the aspects. Within it there are two parts: first, questioning the difficulty of the general establishment; second, opening up the specific to explain and establish it. This is the first. The mind applies to both defilement and purity, whereas the Mahāyāna is solely pure. How does this mind reveal the meaning of the Mahāyāna?
