論。云何修行至向菩提故　述曰。次下第二種門別釋。於中有二。初略明前四。後廣釋止觀。前中又二。初別明四行。後總明深障。別中顯其四種修行。即分為四。此初也。文中初則別明三種施相為修正因。不應已下總勸所修。離於僻執而求正果。三種施相如文可見。

[Treatise:] How does one cultivate ... because it is directed toward bodhi? [Exposition:] Next is the second [section], separately explaining the various gates. Here there are two parts: first, a brief explanation of the first four; later, an extensive explanation of calm and insight. The first part also has two subdivisions: first, separately explaining the four practices; later, generally explaining the deep hindrances. In separately clarifying the four practices, it is divided into four; this is the first. In the text, first the marks of the three kinds of giving are separately explained as the correct cause for cultivation; from "one should not" onward, it generally encourages what is to be cultivated, departing from perverse attachments to seek the correct fruit. The marks of the three kinds of giving can be seen in the text.
