2.20

論。依此二義至發心修行　述曰。此顯功能也。依此本有境智因義常熏眾生。以有熏力故令妄心而得發心厭苦欣滅。自信己性修行諸行。

[Treatise:] Relying on these two meanings [...] arousing the mind to cultivate practice. [Commentary:] This reveals the functional efficacy. Relying on these inherently existing meanings of the cause of objects and cognition, it constantly perfumes sentient beings. Because of this perfuming force, it causes the deluded mind to arouse the mind to loathe suffering and rejoice in cessation, having faith in one's own nature and cultivating the various practices.
