2.50

論。問曰上說至種種功德　述曰。上來正明性功德義。次下問答重顯。於中有二。初問。後答。此初也。謂執真體定離諸相故疑有此功德相也。

[Treatise:] Question: It was said above […] various virtues?
[Exposition:] Above, the meaning of inborn virtues was properly clarified. Next below, questions and answers re-elucidate it. In this there are two parts: first, the question; next, the answer. This is the first. That is, clinging to the idea that the ultimate essence is definitely free of all characteristics, one doubts whether there are these characteristics of virtues.
