[Treatise:] If one attains the [pure] mind ... seeing each other.
[Exposition:] This reveals what is seen on the bhūmis. "If one attains the pure mind, what is seen is subtle and wondrous, and its function becomes ever more superior": this explains the superiority of seeing. The functional marks surpass what came before, and across each bhūmi the function also increasingly grows; hence it is said to become "ever more superior." "Up to the bodhisattva's ultimate": this explains the culmination of seeing. Bodhisattvas who have reached the end of the bhūmis see the marks of the Buddha's enjoyment body; when the marks of the body reach the culmination, it is called seeing the ultimate. In the mind subsequent to the vajra[-like samādhi], one is free from the marks of karma and sees no more; thus, "free from karmic consciousness, there are no marks of seeing." Since what is relied upon is absent, that which relies upon it is absent. That is, being free from karmic consciousness is called the Buddhas. The Buddhas are purely the dharmakāya of suchness, and have no marks of form of this or that to be seen; hence, free from karmic consciousness there are no marks of seeing.
