[Treatise:] "The phase of inconceivable activity… an exquisite sphere of experience."

Commentary: Next, the second, the phase of inconceivable activity, is revealed. Herein are two parts: first, indication; second, explanation. This is the first, the indication. Relying on the essence of the dharmakāya of pure cognition, this phase of virtue of the nirmāṇakāya arises, acting as an exquisite sphere of experience for the six sense faculties of sentient beings. Thus the Ratnagotravibhāga says: 'The bodies of the Buddha Tathāgatas are like space, formless; for all those of superior wisdom, they act as spheres of experience for the six sense faculties, manifesting exquisite forms, emitting exquisite sounds, causing them to smell the Buddha's fragrance of morality, granting them the exquisite taste of the Buddha's Dharma, causing them to feel the tactile sensation of samādhi, and enabling them to know the profound and exquisite Dharma.'
