[Treatise:] The perfuming of suchness [...] perfuming of function. [Commentary:] This reveals the real. There are two parts within this: first stating the numbers and listing the names, and then broadly analyzing the names. This is the first. Because this suchness possesses the three greatnesses, it can perfume avidyā. The "essential attribute" is the internal cause of perfuming. The "perfuming of function" serves as the condition. Because of the difference between internal and external, essence and function are divided into two. Because they are together an internal perfuming, essence and attribute are taken as one.
