Treatise: "Furthermore, there are four kinds [of dharmas that perfume and produce defiled dharmas and pure dharmas,] arising without interruption..."
Exposition: Within the aspect of arising and ceasing, there are broadly two parts. In its first part on arising and ceasing dharmas, what has preceded has already clarified defiled and pure arising and ceasing, revealing the previously mentioned principle that this consciousness can subsume all dharmas. Next below is the distinction of the mutual support of defilement and purity, extensively revealing the principle of being able to produce all dharmas. In this there are four parts: 1. briefly stating the number of perfumings; 2. listing the names of defiled and pure perfuming; 3. extensively explaining the meaning of defiled and pure perfuming; 4. clarifying the meaning of the exhaustion and non-exhaustion of the two perfumings. This is the first part. Because defiled dharmas are uninterrupted, there are ordinary beings of the six destinies with outflows; because pure dharmas are uninterrupted, there are noble ones of the three vehicles without outflows.
