[Treatise:] Because cultivating worldly [... views of heterodox paths]. [Exposition:] This shows the falsity of concentration on phenomena. Why must one rely on the suchness samādhi before entering the lineage and the stage of non-retrogression? In response, it says: because the various dhyānas and samādhis such as contemplation of impurity and mindfulness of breathing (ānāpāna) have characteristics and are destructible, they are all called worldly. Because they have characteristics, they have four faults: frequently giving rise to savoring attachment, arising based on the view of self, being bound to the three realms, and being shared with heterodox paths. If one cultivates these to develop supernormal knowledges, one must constantly be instructed and protected by good spiritual friends; otherwise, one will give rise to the views of heterodox paths.
