[Treatise:] If there were arising ... the tathāgatagarbha.
[Exposition:] This is the third part, adducing virtues to explain the names. If the mind were further to give rise to external thoughts seeking it, there would be insufficiency, hence deficiency. Because the pure dharmas are complete within the mind-nature without anything further to seek, it is said to have no thought. Because there is no thought, it is complete in purity. Because this one mind is complete in virtuous dharmas, it serves as the locus of pure dharmas and is called the dharmakāya; because it can embrace the pure virtues of the Tathāgata, it is called the tathāgatagarbha.
