[Treatise:] Moreover, the newly aspiring [bodhisattvas] ... because it is the rank of the dharmakāya.
[Exposition:] Next, revealing the enjoyment body. In this there are two: first, explaining what is seen prior to the bhūmis; next, revealing what is seen on the bhūmis. This is the first. Previously, in explaining the enjoyment body, it was spoken of generally in terms of what is seen both before and on the bhūmis. Now, wishing to distinguish inference from realization, the enjoyment body is explained again. From the ten understandings upwards, by relying on the gate of inferential contemplation they see the principle of suchness; hence it says "deeply faith in the principle of suchness." Because it is not direct realization but resemblance awakening, it says "see a small portion." Because they see suchness and are distinct from ordinary beings and the lesser [vehicle], they know that marks of form and the like originally neither come nor go. Because they attain profound understanding by relying on inferential contemplation, and have not yet entered the rank of the dharmakāya that realizes truth, these bodhisattvas still conceptualize.
