2.93

[Treatise:] The view of a personal self ... is explained as having five kinds.
[Exposition:] Next below, discerning the marks. In this there are two: first, explaining the personal self; next, explaining the view of a self of dharmas. In the first there are also two: first, a general indication; next, a specific explanation. This is the first. However, this personal self is arisen solely among ordinary beings within the Buddha's Dharma who study the Mahāyāna. Therefore, the text below in all cases cites misapprehensions arising with respect to the Mahāyāna teaching; relying on ordinary beings, five views of self are explained.
