4.48

論。眾生亦爾至則無是處　釋曰。下合有三。初明闕緣。次顯闕因。後因緣具。此初正合前喻顯闕緣也。

[Treatise:] "Sentient beings are also like this [...] there is no such possibility." [Commentary:] The application below has three parts: first, clarifying the deficiency of conditions; next, revealing the deficiency of causes; later, the completeness of causes and conditions. This first part directly applies the previous analogy to reveal the deficiency of conditions.
